The Op. 10: Sonata Collection includes all thirty-five of Mozart’s violin sonatas, including Sonatas 1 – 10 (K6-K15), Sonatas 11-16 (K26-K31), Sonata 17 (K296), Sonatas 18-23 (K301-K306), Sonatas 24-28 (K376-K380), Sonatas 29-31 (K402-K404), Sonata 32 (K454), Sonata 33 (K481), Sonata 34 (K378), and Sonata 35 (K526). In Op. 10.1, each sonata (including all movements) is transcribed and arranged for cello and piano. All the demo recordings are synthesized from my original scores, executed in Finale©, and played through a Yamaha MOXF8 Music Production Synthesizer.
I have long felt that it is unfortunate that many beautiful classical works remain locked away and rarely enjoyed because they are inaccessible to most musicians, other than virtuosic performers. Therefore, Opus 10.2 includes a “Redux” version of each sonata. The “Redux” versions are shorter in length and less technically demanding than the initial transcriptions. I hope these “Redux” versions will make some of the outstanding elements of these brilliant pieces accessible to intermediate cellists.
All the pieces in the Op. 10: Sonata Collection (Op. 10.1 Transcriptions & Op. 10.2 Redux Versions) are available as cello parts and cello/piano scores, in PDF format. Recordings of the piano parts for the initial transcriptions and the Redux versions are available as MP3s, upon request.
